Running for fun, with the aim of bringing future generations closer to physical activity and the world of outdoor sports. Over the years, Aosta-Becca di Nona has expanded its program of events, reserving a day for young people.
On Saturday, July 20, the protagonists will be children, in the second edition of Becca Kids. They will wear the bib to feel like athletes, but no race against time. A non-competitive obstacle course is planned for them, in the area of the Plan Felinaz sports field, where only colors and smiles will find space. It will be up to them, to the applause of adults, waiting for Sunday's competitions. The event is open to young people born between 2009 and 2021, who will compete in one of the four courses set up, depending on the age group.
Registration for the Becca Kids is free and can be done online from Saturday 1 June. To participate, simply fill out the form (https://forms.gle/ gfQbiinDjyGJNAUr8). There are 300 places available, only for the fastest who decide to take part in the festive Aosta-Becca di Nona week (17-21 July) and wear the special celebratory t-shirt.
The event is organized in collaboration with DynamoCamp, an association committed to providing support and moments of happiness to children suffering from serious and chronic diseases. Among the partners of Becca Kids there are also Technosport and Ideart.
André Comé, Becca di Nona 3142 ASD: «Since its conception, we have strongly believed in Becca Kids as a means to bring children closer to sports and teach them respect for the rules and fair play. We adults also have something to learn from watching children run in company, in fact we often focus too much on the stopwatch, forgetting that sport is first and foremost fun, lightheartedness and friendship».
Monia Arnese, member of Valle d'Aosta for DynamoCamp: «Inside the Becca di Nona there are activities for everyone and it is an event that we like. The involvement of young people is something fantastic, especially for an association like ours that operates in this sector. Sport is and must be inclusive, we will be present with a series of personalized DynamoCamp and Becca di Nona celebratory mugs to raise funds and guarantee hope and research to the most unfortunate».
In the meantime, registrations are proceeding at a rapid pace; the 1,000 bibs available for the Becca Pink were sold out in less than a month, a great achievement for the organizers who had set themselves the goal of doubling the participations of the first edition. Overall, more than 1,500 participants were registered, with athletes from over 25 nations
