Aosta's most anticipated sporting event, because it is linked to its iconic mountain, the Becca di Nona, will take place from 16 to 19 July 2020. It will begin Thursday evening, July 16, with the classic Sports Festival, where all sportsmen of Charvensod have distinguished themselves, achieving outstanding results, in national and international competitions.
There will be two main developments for 2020: BeccaPink, New, a non-competitive women-only race of only 5 kilometres with social purposes, scheduled for the evening of Friday, July 17, starting from the Aosta athletics field and arriving at the Charvensod sports field; And the BeccaKids, New, a mini race dedicated to tomorrow's samples that will take place in the afternoon of Saturday, July 18, in the charvensod sports field.
Sunday, July 19 will be the highlight of the day with the three races already proposed in 2018: theAosta – Becca di Nona (13 km, 2500 m)TheAosta – Comboé (9 km / 1500 m) and non-competitive food and wine walking La Montée des Gourmands, that allows you to combine sport, nature, good food, celebration and joy in a new formula of knowledge and promotion of the territory.
The logistics center of the event will be, as always, the Plan Félinaz Locality Sports Field in the municipality of Charvensod, where the delivery of the bibs and the Saturday briefing for the athletes will take place, as well as lunch, awards and the final feast on Sunday.
"Since the first day the committee met to reorganize the Ninth-A – explains Laurent Chuc, organizer and deputy mayor of Charvensod City Council – we have always had the goal of growing over the years, bringing some new things to each edition. Since we are of the opinion that sporting events do not start with the start and do not end with the finish line, we have gradually added a series of events to accompany the mother race, in order to offer a 360-degree experience to athletes and their families.
In this path of constant growth, it is also a pleasure – Conludes Laurent Chuc – to have for the first year, alongside and in support of our event, a brand of value for clothing and mountaineering shoes such as La Sportiva.
The poster for the 2020 edition of the vertical running "Aosta-Becca di Nona" is deliberately retro and designed by the designer and graphic designer Fabio Cuffari, which fulfilled the organization's desire to create a hand-painted poster, inspired by the romantic-vintage style of the old 1950s/60s posters.
"I was honored to be contacted as a painter, – says Fabio Cuffari – to take care of the project. The will was to depict a family while, taking a hike in the mountains, contemplates and points to the Becca of Nona, which stands out from before them, on the other side of the valley. At the bottom in the background the city of Aosta. The protagonists are therefore the family, since the event believes in the involvement of everyone in the context of the event and, of course, the Becca di Nona, the mountain symbol of Aosta. The technique used to make the painting – concludes Cuffari – it is that of pastel painting, a technique of dry painting."
The event Aosta-Becca di Nona enjoys the patronage of Charvensod Municipality and Aosta Municipality.
